beachside playground – free fun

There’s a new Beachside playground at Folkestone Harbour.  Situated on the beach, near Hulas and the adventure golf, there’s a new climbing area free for children under 10 and small families.  The space has been designed by Kompan and challenges the children to climb and balance across the trail.  There are rope walks, rope climbs and static poles that alter the rhythm of movement and coordination skills needed.

If you are three years old, the rope walk from the top of the slide to the look out point might seem too wobbly.  That’s to start with at any rate.  It’s always good to leave something to play on next time, although, if brave, you might well reach the other side sooner than you think.

Hulas is situated opposite the play area and serves food and drinks.  There’s also adventure golf to be attempted too.  There are plenty of picnic benches around the play area for you to bring your own food and enjoy the space.

We ask that all children are looked after by a responsible person, and the area will be open from dawn to dusk all year round.
